Grace and the BB family created this mushroom gravy recipe years ago for our Thanksgiving table. It is rich, savory, high protein yumminess! Now with the addition of Vitality broth...it is even more over the top deliciousness. Enjoy!
3 cloves garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp rosemary (freshly chopped)
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp sage
1 tbsp parsley (freshly chopped)
1 lb assorted mushrooms (portabella, shitake, oyster, etc.)
2 packets vitality beyond broth
6 c water
1 cup of almonds
1 tbsp tamari
In a skillet, heat oil, garlic and onions. Cook until onions are translucent. Add in sliced mushrooms, herbs and tamari. Turn heat to low and let simmer. In a blender, combine almonds, water and Vitality broth packets and mix until smooth. Pour contents into mushroom mixture and stir. Let simmer with a lid on the pot for about 20 minutes. The longer it cooks, the richer the flavor! If the gravy becomes too thick, add water to thin out. Serve and enjoy!
